The companies GMR Maskiner A/S, Serenergy A/S and Energiselskabet OK a.m.b.a have joined forces with the Danish Technological Institute to form the EcoMotion consortium. The consortium works to develop vehicles that run on methanol-driven fuel cells, or in other words electric vehicles that use fuel cells to generate their own running power. The technology is a sound and eco-efficient alternative to hydrogen and is initially being tested by parks, airports, etc.
EcoMotion took its first small steps in 2003 when GMR Maskiner A/S began to investigate opportunities to create a stable, customer-oriented, future-proof work tool that, as a first priority, was not detrimental to the environment.
The first prototype of the vehicle has been created and was presented to the public at Aalborg Zoo on 9 June 2010.

The truck has a power point on each side for tools such as hedge trimmers and leaf blowers. The truck itself and the electrically operated tools are low-noise and reduce emissions of CO2, hydrocarbons and polluting particles.
